Da Vinci developed geometry and tinkered with automatons in his atelier. Turing invented the modern computer in a wartime hut. Lovelace wrote the first computer program in the midst of industrial Britain.
All three immersed themselves in the pursuit via true curiosity.
All three were free of the pressure to specialise.

Renaissance Florence.
Blank-canvas government facilities.
Industrial Revolution Britain.
These places had the diversity of thought, readily available components and machining infrastructure to enable polymaths to indulge in their curiosities and rapidly instantiate their ideas into reality.

The West lacks the availability of components and machining infrastucture. And much of the world lacks the diversity of thought.
Bangkok offers: Same day PCB manufacture. Vast mechanical and electronic markets, heaving with arduinos and bearings of all sizes. Hardware hackspaces, bespoke machining shops and giant mass-production factories.
Polymathia is bringing the diversity of thought and talent through a community-driven residency built in the heart of all of this.
The residents at Polymathia will break the boundaries between fields like synthetic biology, mathematics, mechanical engineering, AI, laser physics, rocketry and more, to build entirely new ones on a foundation of novel technology.
If this appeals to you, join our waiting list below. We’ll be launching invitations to apply soon, so keep an eye on your inbox. Successful applicants will have their rent at the residency fully funded for the duration of their stay.
